Meet Jerah — your counselor in North Carolina

North Carolina clients work with Jerah Griggs, LPC, a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 15 years of experience in mental health and crisis counseling. Jerah is also a Research and Evaluation Associate with the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State — and she brings that depth of experience with Veterans and military families to a state that’s home to so many who serve.

Her style is warm and structured: she listens first, then helps you build routines, skills, and accountability that hold up in real life. Sessions happen over secure, HIPAA-compliant video, so care fits around shift work, classes, caregiving, and family schedules.

What Jerah helps North Carolinians with

  • Anxiety and constant overwhelm
  • Depression and feeling stuck
  • Life transitions — moves, career shifts, separation, retirement
  • ADHD & focus — structure, follow-through, and systems that stick
  • Crisis support and stabilization, drawn from 15+ years of crisis counseling
  • Veterans and military family members navigating life at home

Starting therapy from anywhere in NC

Reach out by phone or through the form below and we’ll schedule your initial evaluation with Jerah — a full first session to map out what’s going on and where you want to be. Ongoing video sessions run 30, 45, or 55 minutes, on a schedule you set together.

Session rates are the same as in-person visits at our Pennsylvania office: self-pay is $175 for the initial evaluation, then $145, $125, or $100 by session length. We participate with most commercial insurance companies, so most clients only pay their insurance cost.

Veterans and military families: this work is central to Jerah’s career — you’ll be understood here.

Clear fees, no surprises

We believe knowing the cost up front is part of feeling at ease. Rates are the same whether you meet in person at our State College office or by secure telehealth. These are self-pay rates — we participate with most commercial insurance companies, so many clients pay only their insurance portion for sessions.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Can a counselor whose office is in Pennsylvania see me in North Carolina?

Yes. Telehealth rules require your counselor to be licensed both where they practice and where you are located at the time of the session — and Jerah Griggs holds a full North Carolina LPC license. Your sessions happen by secure video, so the office address never affects your care. And if you relocate, the wider Mana Life team also serves Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Virginia.

Who sees North Carolina clients?

Jerah Griggs, LPC — a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 15 years of experience in mental health and crisis counseling, licensed in both North Carolina and Pennsylvania. She is accepting new telehealth clients.

Do you work with Veterans and military families?

Yes — it’s one of Jerah’s core specialties. Alongside her counseling practice she works with the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State, and she brings that depth to Veterans and military family members across North Carolina.

Is online counseling private and secure?

Sessions take place over a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform through our client portal, with the same confidentiality protections you’d have in an office. All you need is a private space and a reliable connection.

What does online counseling cost in North Carolina?

Session rates match our in-person fees: self-pay is $175 for the initial evaluation, then $145 (55 min), $125 (45 min), or $100 (30 min). We participate with most commercial insurance companies, so most clients only pay their insurance cost. Call 814-933-4622 with questions.
