Insurance we accept

We participate with most commercial insurance companies and many employee assistance programs (EAPs) — so for most clients, a session costs only their plan’s copay. Call 814-933-4622 with any questions about coverage.

Coverage that works the way you’d hope

Counseling should be a decision about your wellbeing — not a math problem. Mana Life Counseling participates with most commercial insurance companies, which means that for most clients a session costs only their plan’s copay or coinsurance.

Not sure about your coverage? Plans vary. The member services number on the back of your insurance card can confirm your mental health benefits, or call 814-933-4622 with questions.

Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs)

Many employers offer counseling sessions at no cost through an Employee Assistance Program. If your workplace uses one of these EAPs, your sessions may already be covered:

No insurance? No problem.

Our self-pay rates are straightforward and identical in person or by telehealth: $175 for the initial evaluation, then $145, $125, or $100 depending on session length. The one exception to insurance coverage is DOT/SAP evaluations, which are a flat $450 and not covered by health insurance.

Simple by design

How billing works

Three steps, no surprises.

1

Share your insurance info

When you reach out, tell us your plan name and member ID — or the name of your EAP and your authorization number.

2

Check your coverage

A quick call to the member services number on your insurance card confirms your copay and any deductible, so you know what to expect before your first session.

3

You pay only your share

We bill your insurance directly; you pay just your copay or coinsurance. Self-pay rates are always available too.

Clear fees, no surprises

We believe knowing the cost up front is part of feeling at ease. Rates are the same whether you meet in person at our State College office or by secure telehealth. These are self-pay rates — we participate with most commercial insurance companies, so many clients pay only their insurance portion for sessions.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How do I find out what my plan covers?

Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask about outpatient mental health coverage. They can tell you your copay, coinsurance, and any deductible. You can also call us at 814-933-4622 with general questions.

What will a session actually cost me?

If we’re in network with your plan, you typically pay only your plan’s copay or coinsurance once any deductible is met. Without insurance, our self-pay rates are $175 for the initial evaluation, then $145 (55 min), $125 (45 min), or $100 (30 min).

What if I don’t see my plan listed?

Insurance participation changes throughout the year, so this list may not be exhaustive — call and we’ll check. And if we’re not in network with your plan, our self-pay rates keep counseling affordable and predictable.

What is an EAP, and are those sessions really covered?

An Employee Assistance Program is a benefit your employer provides — often including a set number of counseling sessions at no cost to you. We work with the EAPs listed above; just bring the authorization number your EAP gives you and we’ll handle the rest.

Does insurance cover telehealth the same as in-person sessions?

Most commercial plans now cover telehealth sessions the same as office visits. Check with your plan to confirm telehealth coverage for your specific policy.

Is anything not covered by insurance?

DOT/SAP evaluations are the exception — insurance does not cover them. They are a flat $450, though some employers and EAPs cover the cost.
